Privacy policy
This policy explains how Primitive AI handles personal information collected through primitiveai.com.au, mainly the email address you give us to join the waitlist. Our products have their own policies: Primitive Pass, your Primitive account and Primitive Pages.
1. Who we are
primitiveai.com.au is run by Primitive AI Labs Pty Ltd, trading as Primitive AI (ABN 86 701 195 708), Perth, Western Australia. Privacy contact: hello@primitiveai.com.au. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Primitive AI.
2. What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- Which form you used (the Pass section or the page footer) and, if the link you followed had them, its utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign tags. We store these with your email address.
- Technical information. Our server handles your IP address, the time and the page or file requested. To stop repeated sign-ups, it keeps a short record in memory of the IP addresses that sent waitlist requests in the last minute, and clears each one within about a minute and a half of its last request (and when the server restarts). Our server log records each sign-up's form and utm tags, but not your email address.
You don't have to give us your email address, but we can't add you to the waitlist without it. The site has no accounts, and you can browse it without giving us anything.
3. Why we use it
We use your email address only to tell you about the beta. We use the form and utm tags to understand which links bring people to the waitlist, and technical information to run and protect the site. We do not sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
4. Who receives it and where

Because these providers are overseas, your information is stored and processed outside Australia. We take the reasonable steps required by Australian law when we use overseas providers.
5. Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools. After you join the waitlist, your browser remembers that you joined (primitive.waitlist.joined in local storage) so the form shows that you're on the list. It doesn't store your email address. You can clear it in your browser settings.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your email address while the waitlist is active. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address marked as unsubscribed so we don't email you again. You can ask us to delete it completely (see section 8).
7. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and only our server holds the key to our email provider. No internet service can promise absolute security.
8. Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@primitiveai.com.au. We may need to check it's you first. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
9. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@primitiveai.com.au and tell us what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, or we haven't responded within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). The OAIC accepts privacy complaints in writing:
- online, using its privacy complaint form at oaic.gov.au
- by email to oaicintake@oaic.gov.au
- by post to GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001.

10. Changes
If we change how we handle waitlist information, we'll update this page and its date. If a change is significant, we'll email the waitlist before it applies.
